AI Processing Permission
Before a portrait is sent for AI processing, the app shows an in-app permission prompt that explains what data is sent, who receives it, and why. You can decline by going back or not choosing a photo.
Face Data We Collect
CutBoss lets you choose or take a portrait photo. Because the photo may show your face, it may include face data such as your visible facial features, face outline, hair, and head shape. We do not create, collect, or store biometric identifiers, faceprints, facial recognition templates, or face geometry files.
How Face Data Is Used
Face data is used only to generate the hairstyle analysis you request, including realistic hairstyle previews and a collage showing suitable, neutral, and not recommended hairstyles. We do not use face data to identify you, authenticate you, track you across apps or websites, train our own face recognition model, or make decisions unrelated to the hairstyle preview.
Sharing and Third Parties
When you generate a result, the selected portrait is sent to our server and then to our AI service provider, OpenAI, so the requested hairstyle analysis can be created. OpenAI processes this data under its API data protection terms for this limited processing, and we require OpenAI to provide the same or equal protection for the photo and face data it processes for us. We do not sell photos, face data, or personal information. We do not share photos or face data with Mixpanel, RevenueCat, AppsFlyer, or advertising networks.
Storage
The original portrait is processed transiently by our server for the generation request and is not saved to our database or object storage. OpenAI may temporarily process and retain API inputs and outputs for abuse monitoring and safety for up to 30 days unless a longer period is required by law or safety review. Generated results are returned to the app and saved locally on your device so you can view recent generations.
Analytics and Attribution
If you allow App Tracking Transparency permission, we use AppsFlyer to measure which ads lead to installs and subscriptions. AppsFlyer may receive device identifiers and attribution events for this purpose. We do not send photos, face data, generated hairstyle images, names, emails, or payment details to AppsFlyer. If you ask the app not to track, AppsFlyer is not started.
Retention
We do not retain original portrait photos or face data on our server after the generation request is complete. Generated hairstyle results remain stored locally on your device until they are replaced by newer generations, the app data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.
Your Choices
You control which photo you choose. You can leave the results screen or choose a different photo at any time.
Updates
We may update this policy as the app changes. The latest version will be shown inside the app.
